6. Workshops for the Education sector
As the education sector expands, institutions should necessarily be able to create a "student, staff and parent friendly" atmosphere. This has brought into sharp focus, the need to upgrade the knowledge and skills of those working in the field of education, by acquainting them with the latest trends in management of school and educational services, including people management skills. Recognizing this need, workshops have been designed on the following topics:
Teams & Team Building
One of the strongest leadership trends today is the transfer of management responsibilities and authorities to front line employees. The result is improved efficiency and productivity and increased morale. This session will discuss the basics of teams and methods to build performance enhancing teams and develop leadership within teams.
The workshop will benefit those working in any Institution, seeking to enhance output and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
Conflict Resolution/ Management
The course covers the different dimensions of conflict handling, resolving workplace disputes through mediation and to negotiate effectively. Will benefit those working in any organization and individuals since conflict situations are all pervasive and negotiation, a basic component of day to day human interaction.
Motivation skills:
Motivation is the attitude that accounts for an individual's intensity, direction and persistence of effort towards attaining a goal. The session aims to enable participants to understand the different factors that motivate people and learn the skills necessary to motivate them and keep them motivated.
Communication skills:
The dictionary defines communication as a process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs or behaviors. Skill is defined as a learned power of doing something competently and something that is a developed aptitude or ability. Put the two together and it is obvious good communication skills can be learned and that those skills can be used effectively. Communication is the most important skill a person can acquire, and it is also the first skill learned by human beings. Communication is also the skill that is used the most. It is central to eliciting cooperation, retaining support and successfully building long term relationships with the people around you.
Stress Management:
Along with the complications of the job, come unavoidable stress, which affects the individual differently from other challenges. It is useful, therefore, to develop clear perspective and knowledge about stress so that it can be recognized and managed. This session will enable participants to cope more effectively with the inevitable stressful situations that occur in the workplace and, in turn, allow them to better focus on their daily priorities. |
